In reply to Kath Shawcroft's question, I have looked up the information
supplied to owners of lists by JISCmail.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
JISCmail has two types of archives available. The first is the archive
of notebooks where all list messages are saved and may be accessed by
List Owners and Members (and perhaps by non-members if the archives are
public). The files in these archives are also known as notebook logs.
The second type of archive is called a file archive and basically
operates as a file server. Owners may store files here instead of
posting them to the list and members can retrieve them (depending on
the file access permissions).
---------------------------------------------------------------------
We co-owners will try to ensure that the archives will be preserved, as
in the past, for two or more years after a message has been posted.
The archives can now be found at
http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists/archives-nra/archive.html
If members have particular favourites, like late arrivals at the
archivists ball, they should download such gems and preserve them for
posterity on their own systems.
