Application consultant - CALM 2000 (Collection Management for Archives,
Libraries and Museums)
(Ref SAN/AC/04)
DS, working in the field of archives, libraries and museums, urgently
needs to expand its application support team for CALM 2000, which is
already widely established in UK archives; is rapidly growing in museums
and local studies libraries; and has won some key customers in the field
of records management.
We are looking for a person with qualifications in and / or experience
of one or more of these areas to work in the area of training and
customer demonstrations. A recent graduate may be suitable.
Although extensive training will be given in the DS applications, the
position is unlikely to be suitable for those without a basic knowledge
of PC usage at the 'intelligent user' level. Reasonable familiarity with
Windows, files, folders, word processing, and simple end-user database
concepts is assumed, but a keen interest in information technology and a
lively willingness to learn is paramount.
The successful applicant will receive full training, but must have the
potential to carry out training sessions, sales demonstrations and
product
presentations, so an outgoing approach and presentational aptitude is
essential.
The position will be based at our office in Poole, Dorset although
substantial travelling in the southern half of the country will be
necessary.
We are looking for the type of self-starting person who will regard this
kind of fairly hectic lifestyle as a good opportunity! The right
candidate will find the role both challenging and satisfying.
The starting salary package will depend on experience but is likely to
be in the region of £16-20,000 plus a company car, with a salary review
following a period of practical training.
