I'd like to reiterate what Jenny said about attending S of A meetings. When
I first started, way back in the mists of time in 1995, it was rather
daunting to attend meetings when you didn't know anyone. However, as a lone
archivist I found it extremely useful to attend regional meetings and did so
as often as possible. Lack of time and lack of space in the workplace meant
I never became more involved in the Society, but it was a very useful way to
network and find out more about the profession. Everyone was very friendly
as well. Transport links in the North-West Region are pretty good, so it was
easy to attend from that point of view. For my sins I confess I have not
yet attended a Scottish region meeting, but do intend to go to the next one.
