Following this morning's hiatus when multiple "out of office"
messages were posted to the list the list owners would like to
remind members that it is a good idea either to leave the list or
suspend your mail if you are going to be away from work for any
longer than a couple of days.
Normally "out of office" messages are only visible to owners
and message-posters and don't go round the membership,
although clearly there are exceptions to this.
If out of office messages do come through to the membership the
list owner will have to take action which will usually mean removing
from the list the person whose email system is sending "out of
office" messages. Anyone who has to be removed from list
membership in this way can, of course, rejoin the list in the normal
way on their return to work.
