Apologies to those who this does not concern
I am currently working on the Geo-data Browser project at the Data Archive
department in the University of Essex. At the moment I am particularly
interested in the level of spatial detail required by the end user in order
to perform a search for geo-referenced datasets. For instance when using a
portal to search for datasets do you usually search at the country,
administrative area (county or state) or at postcode/zip level or at some
other, more detailed, level? Is it important to have a wide choice of
spatial identifiers to search with, or is it better to be able to type in
the place name/admin area etc and bring up all searches that match?
I look forward to reading your responses.
