This Society of Archivists workshop was planned following discussions on the
mail base in April of this year about Archives and TV.
Media Skills
One day training event to help you deal with the media.
4th October 2000 at London Metropolitan Archives
10.30 - 16.30
What makes a good press release; how to convince an editor to report that
not to be missed exhibition; coping with live broadcasting, crisis scenarios
and awkward questions.
All these matters and more are dealt with in this practical one day course
run by broadcaster and media trainer Stuart Robinson and TV reporter Carole
Green.
Methods of raising interest and media awareness are covered in short
seminars along with an insight into the workings of a reporter; what they
are looking for - how do they work. How much [ or how little] can be said in
a two minute item.
Participants are also given plenty of practical experience in giving
interviews in a variety of formats ranging from the talking head to
discussion programmes.
