Dear Peter,
My thanks for your response, I use a high zinc 80 mesh powder form
Turbo Braze corp., Union City N.J. USA.
Fuller explains the joint process as using grains and this is as close
as I could get. I have tried commercial brazing rod and I can make it
work but the powder mixed with borax as Fuller describes has worked the
best so far.
The process still requires vary high temperatures and I run a high risk
of oxygenating the copper.
My experiments with both tin and zinc worked at much lower temperatures
and gave excellent results.
The trade offs of expence of zinc and the success of the pot and the
use of brass and the risk of damage are the question
If Dr. Northover discovers a differance that can be tested for, we may
be able to tell who use which process and when.
