I have a feeling that I was sent a blind carbon of this by mistake. However, I would comment that I would like to be informed of any really interesting isotope/provenance work you are doing. I am presently totally involved in the study of radiation effects on face centred cubic materials (which, strangely enough, involves regular visits to Sweden (I really ought to be reading a pile of stuff fromthe Royal Institute of Technology instead of replying to stray emails), but my interest in archaeological metallurgy is undiminished.
Anyway, I wouldn't mind an excuse to travel N from Stockholm instead of S - my mother was a Smolander.

dear Peter,
Thanks for your reply--sorry I had to ask the whole net about your
intended trip.
Thanks for the update on the project. I forwarded your mail (minus
all personal comments) to Robin and mike grant. As for Noel, he is
definitely on my brown list!! He has gotten in touch oonce in the
past year, mainly snivelling about how sophie done 'im wrong. At the
same time, he is trying to screw me and the project by setting things
up with the isotope guy in stockholm on his own. NOT comme il faut.
Robin thinks he is having a breakthrough re: tin isotopes. He has
been in stockholm twice in the autumn and is coming back for 2 weeks
in Dec. I believe he is planning to get in touch soon. Do yo think
you can dcome to Umes in January or Feb?? It would be good to see
what happens, especially as the money is returned irrevocably in
June. Can't I lure with with promises of the X2000 and the LONG; DARK
nights and days??
gotta go teach. It's still a cliff hanger about Bush the incompetent
and Gore the personalityless. I can live with no personality, but I
can't accept someone who is against abortion, gun control, aid to the
poor, study aid, etc. etc. etc. Well, we'll see!!
bye for now!
