General Information:
The Euroworkshop on Statistical Modelling is a project which is
highly evaluated by the European Commission for funding in the
programme High Level Scientific Conferences. It is planed to have
a series of three workshops with the topics MIXED MODELS,
NONPARAMETRIC MODELS and MODEL DIAGNOSTICS is planned.
The first event in this row is the:

Euroworkshop on Statistical Modelling - Mixed Models
2nd to 5th November, 2000,
Schloß Höhenried, Bernried, near Munich Germany

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Topic:
In Mixed Models unobserved heterogeneity is modelled by random effects.
This means that individual, latent effects are incorporated in a
statistical
model to mirror the reality.
The Euroworkshop on Statistical Modelling - Mixed Models will focus on
new theoretical developments, applications and computational issues of
Mixed Models. Special emphasis will be given on bringing together
different ideas, approaches
and applications in biometry, economics and social science.
Keynote Speakers:
Murray Aitkin, UK
Dankmar Böhning, Germany
Jim Booth, USA
David Clayton, Cambridge, UK
Geert Molenberghs, Belgium
Organisers:
Göran Kauermann (Coordinator), Munich, Germany (Glasgow, UK)
Herwig Friedl, Graz, Austria
John Hinde, Exeter, UK
Emmanuel Lesaffre, Leuven, Belgium
Programme:
The workshop is designed to have lectures from the Keynote Speakers and
further contributed presentations. The number of participants is limited
to 30 where
Young Researchers are particularly encouraged to participate actively by
presenting their work. The major focus is on open discussions and
questions.
Young Researchers:
It is planed that 1/3 of the participants on each workshop are Young
Researchers. The general intention is to bring together senior
scientists and Young Researchers
in order to provoke cooperation. Young Researchers are particularly
encouraged to
present their recent research results.
Location:
The workshop will take place in Schloß Höhenried, Bernried near Munich,
Germany. Schloß Höhenried is a Bavarian castle, nicely located at the
Starnberger See, the
most famous outdoor recreational area of Munich.
Further Information and Registration:
