PHD STUDENTSHIPS IN BIOSS
BioSS (Biomathematics & Statistics Scotland) has an international
reputation in mathematics and statistics applied in the biological
sciences. We currently hold two studentships, for which applications
are invited.
1) A project to develop statistical models for dependence in evaluation
of sensory stimuli, funded through ICMS (International Centre for
Mathematical Sciences, Edinburgh), and supervised by Rob Kempton (BioSS)
and Iain Currie (Heriot-Watt University). Further details can be found

2) A BBSRC quota studentship for a UK national, for which students may
choose from any of BioSS's projects, for which, see:

Awards include full university fees (for EU nationals) and a maintenance
allowance of 9000 pounds per year.
Applicants should have, or shortly expect to obtain, a first or upper
second class degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematical biology, or
a related subject.
