HALF-TIME RESEARCH FELLOW/STATISTICIAN
To work under the supervision of Professor Michel Coleman and his team in the Cancer and Public Health Unit on a project funded by the NHS Executive. The project entails using national cancer data to estimate population survival rates with custom software, using data on cancer survival in England 1990-99.
The postholder will be expected to have experience or training to at least MSc level in epidemiology, statistics, demography or a related topic and experience in statistical analysis in a PC and/or UNIX. The postholder should also be familiar with statistical packages, particularly STATA and/or SAS.
This post is half-time for three years. Starting salary will be in the range of £18,714 - £26,906. The successful candidate will be placed on the scale according to qualifications and proven experience.
