Please could someone help me with the following problem?
In order to sort/scale 4 objects (A, B, C & D), I have the results of a
paired comparisons method (the subjects were invited to choose between two
objects; the non-preference response is allowed). The same subject has
pronounced himself about all the 6 pairs (AB, AC, AD, BC & CD).
I only have access to totals, i.e., I know how many subjects choose "A
instead of B" or "B instead of A" or "C as good as D", etc.
How can I sort the objects and somehow scale the distances between them
based only in those totals?
The only technique I've found was "round-robin". Is this an appropriate
technique for my problem? There are other techniques? Please remember that
I only have access to totals, not to individual responses.
Thank you for helping me.
