OFFICIAL HEALTH STATISTICS: WHAT WE HAVE AND WHAT WE NEED
In 'Official Health Statistics: an Unofficial Guide', published in August,
the Group outlined the scope and range of data available about health,
the causes of poor health and the availability and use of health and
social services in the four countries of the United Kingdom. The meeting
will focus on gaps in the data available and discuss what further
statistics are needed to monitor government policies for promoting public
health and for providing health and social care. In England, this has
major implications for the implementation of the NHS Plan.
