Here is the summary of responses, as promised, to my request for text books that
covered analysis methods for laboratory data.
A couple of people correctly pointed out that it depends on the type of
laboratory as to what analysis methods would be required but the majority of
responses offered titles of genereal books which was really what I was after...
The most popular recommendation was
'Statistical Methods in Laboratory Medicine' by PW Strike. Butterworth Heinemann
(1991) ISBN 0 7506 1345 9
The other titles suggested were
'Errors in Observation and their Treatment' by J Topping (Chapman & Hall,
London)
'Statistical Bases of Reference Values in Laboratory Medicine' by Harris and
Boyd (pub. Dekker)
'Biological Data Analysis: A Practical Approach' by JC Fry (ed) (IRL Press
Oxford)
'Statistics for Experimenters' (Think this is the correct title but not entirely
sure) by Dick Boddy
Thanks to all those who replied...much appreciated!
JOY
