EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
POST: Educational Statistics, Aberdeen
Salary Principal Officer Scale PO 1 – 4 £22,083 to £24,009 pro rata.
The post is for 18.125 hours per week.
Based in the central Education Department in Summerhill Education
Centre, the successful applicant will be expected to provide statistical
expertise in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating policy
and practice in relation to education and other Aberdeen City Council
objectives.
Responsibilities include: the compilation and analysis of statistical
data; the production of statistical research information; the
establishment and maintenance of new systems for data analysis; the
development and maintenance of the Education Department’s performance
monitoring framework and the development of a comprehensive pupil
monitoring system.
Applicants should have a degree in mathematics, statistics or related
subject and have knowledge and experience of a wide range of statistical
techniques. The successful applicant should have good communication
and organisation skills, and be accustomed to working on his/her own
initiative as well as in different teams and groups on local and
national initiatives and projects.
