Our client - a large Pharmaceutical Company is looking for a Statistician to
work in Geneva, Switzerland.
Purpose of the role:
- Collect, compile, analyse and interpret statistical data
- Ensure the accuracy of Statistics as well as the accuracy of their
interpretation
- Handle data management tasks complementary to the ones of data management
units
- Prepare and assist in preparing regular or special statistical report
- Provide oral presentations of statistical or technical scientific
information to inform and report on the progress of the analyses
- Provide supervision, support, or training, for employees engaged in
statistical analysis of data.
- Collect -- possibly plan data collection -- and review various data such
as operating or activity reports
Main interfaces:
- Research and Pharmaceutical Development departments
- Regulatory
- Biometrics
- Other Corporate departments (occasional request for advice or support)
Candidate's profile education:
- MA or MSc in statistics or mathematics, a prerequisite
- PhD in statistics and/or pharmaceutical industry experience highly
desirable
- Experience and education may be substituted for one other
Professional skills and experience:
- Strong programming and analytical skills
- Strong background and experience in statistics using S-Plus a
prerequisite
- Ability to compile, analyse and interpret statistical data essential
- Wide general knowledge of standard statistical models, procedures, and
techniques, is essential
- Familiarity with Visual Basic, SAS, SPSS, Statgraphics, nQuery would be a
great advantage
- Experience with repeated measurement models, mixed effect models,
bootstrap, robust statistics desirable
- Ability to be flexible and creative in approaching data and programming
problems
- Experience with health outcome research, clinical trials, assay or
process development, QA/QC, pharmacology, or medical technology assessment
is a plus
