THE UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM
INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL
HEALTH
RESEARCH LECTURER IN ENVIRONMENTAL
EPIDEMIOLOGY
Applicants are sought for a Research Lecturer to add to the
existing and rapidly expanding research activity being generated
by the collaboration between the Division of Environmental
Health and Risk Management, the Department of Public Health
and Epidemiology, the West Midlands Cancer Intelligence Unit
and Birmingham Heartlands Hospital.
The successful candidate will be expected to play a major role in
taking forward existing areas of collaborative research,
specifically the epidemiology of air pollution and health and the
impact of contaminated land, as well as developing new
programmes. An individual with experience in applied
epidemiology or statistics is therefore sought, and experience of
GIS or small area statistics would be an advantage.
The position is for three years initially, but the opportunities for
extension are excellent. Brief details of other staff members in
the field are available through the University web page
http://www.bham.ac.uk.
Closing Date 11th May 2000
