RESEARCH SCIENTIST
The MRC Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is a newly formed research Unit of the
Medical Research Council. It is responsible for the co-ordination of
national and international trials primarily in cancer and HIV. The Division
Without Portfolio has been set up to undertake trials in other disease areas
where there is no existing trials infrastructure or tradition of trials, or
where there are challenging methodological issues.
The Division Without Portfolio is seeking to appoint a research scientist
who would work under the direction of the clinical epidemiologist and the
Head of the Division managing research projects, providing statistical
support for trials, and working closely with the Meta Analysis Group.
We are looking for an individual with a qualification in statistics and
experience in clinical trials or epidemiology.
The appointment, which will be for 3 years, will be in MRC salary band 4 in
the range of £16,000 - £25,000, depending on qualifications and experience,
plus Location Allowance of £2,400.
