Statistician
The Novartis Horsham Research Centre is a centre of excellence in the
development of new drugs for the treatment of respiratory diseases. The
Biostatistics sector is part of a large Medical Information Processing and
Statistics (MIPS) department in Horsham. Statisticians are key members of
clinical teams developing respiratory drugs in the Development function of
Novartis Pharma.
We are looking for an outstanding candidate to fill an important role. Your main
tasks will be to bring statistical expertise to the design of clinical trials
and programmes, to the analysis and interpretation of trial results, and to
regulatory dossier summaries.
You should have a MSc in Biostatistics or a related discipline (or a BSc with
relevant additional experience) and at least two years experience in a similar
role within the pharmaceutical environment. This experience will enable you to
design clinical trials and use SAS to perform analyses. You will be familiar
with regulatory guidelines and good clinical practice, and have the ability to
explain statistical concepts and information to non-statisticians.
We would expect you to be able to work under pressure and to plan your work
efficiently in order to meet strict timelines. You will work in a matrix
operation and must be comfortable to be a leader in this type of environment.
You should be good at working in multidisciplinary teams, and have strong
negotiation and interpersonal skills.
If you meet our requirements, we can offer employment terms commensurate with a
large, blue chip employer, at one of two grades dependent on experience. These
terms include an attractive salary, plus a generous relocation package (where
appropriate), flexitime and free private medical insurance.
