Dear Allstat,
I wonder if any knowledgeable person could be kind enough to give me some assistance regarding low response rates.
The background is as follows:
I work for a marketing agency and fortunately this enables me to work with large sample sizes.
The downside, however, is that response rates to promotions are often as low as 0.5%.
I am aware that at these low levels of response, normal distribution assumptions are violated,
as the sampling distribution is truncated at zero.
Does anyone have any experience of dealing with this problem?
Alternatively, could anyone recommend any articles, journals or software that may be of help?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
although please bear in mind that I'm not terribly academic!
Kind regards,
Rita Campos
