Position: Research Fellow
Location: Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre
(ICNARC), Bloomsbury, Central London
Salary: £20,000 - £25,000
ICNARC was set up in 1994, as an independent charity (registered:
1039417) to foster improvements in the organisation and practice of
intensive care in the UK. ICNARC (in association with the Medical Care
Research Unit in the School of Health & Related Research, University of
Sheffield) have recently been awarded funding from the Medical Research
Council to undertake a study to develop and assess the optimal risk
adjustment methods for outcomes in paediatric intensive care.
ICNARC requires a Research Fellow to be responsible for the day-to-day
data management and data analysis for the study. Duties include:
- maintaining and developing the data collection systems;
- ensuring the quality of the data collection;
- assessment of the risk adjustment methods.
Applications are invited from individuals who:
- have experience in data management and data analysis;
- are computer literate, with experience of word processing,
- database and statistical software packages;
- have good interpersonal and communication skills;
- have excellent organisational skills;
- are able to plan, prioritise and problem solve;
- are able to work both independently and collaboratively as
part of a team;
- can demonstrate close attention to detail;
- have respect for confidentiality.
The post is full-time for two years in the first instance.
