Owing to sabbatical leave we have a vacancy for one or two visiting tutors
next term in the Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences at
Goldsmiths College, University of London. The visiting tutor would be
responsible for teaching EITHER the second half of an introductory first year
statistics course OR a third year course in stochastic processes. In addition
we need someone to teach a short introductory course in statistics to
Foundation year (sub-degree) students. Brief details about the duties
associated with these courses are given below.

Details of duties:
ST154 Introduction to Statistics (Approx 50 first year students) There are
3 lectures per week which the visiting tutor would give. In addition there
are 2 workshops per week which take the form of MINITAB lab sessions or
problems classes, the visiting tutor would be part of a team supervising
these and would be responsible for producing the worksheets. The tutor
would be responsible for setting tests and assignments and marking some of
these. Timetabled hours are on Monday morning and Thursday. Fee in the
region of pounds 3,500.
ST313 Stochastic Processes (Approx 15 third year students) There are three
lectures per week which the visiting tutor would give. The tutor would
be responsible for setting and marking assignments and setting the final
examination. Timetabled hours are (provisionally) on Wednesday. Fee in the
region of pounds 3,000.
M014 Statistics (Approx 10 Foundation students) This is a course lasting
5 weeks based round MINITAB. There are two lectures/workshops per week
starting at the beginning of the next term. The tutor would be responsible
for producing and marking individual assignments. Timetabled hours are on
Tuesday morning. Fee in the region of pounds 1000.
