I have a couple of non-standard students who I would like to get to
terms with likelihood. They are not mathematicians ( nor as yet
statisticians) but they need to appreciate the role of likelihood and
meet maximum estimates and their distributions etc. They need a
text(?) thata they can take away and read.
My search thought the usual books "Maths Stats for . . ." gives the
usual single parameter cases in detail while I seek a multi parameter
overview.
I thought Lindsey's simplest book might do but it is out of print.
If anyone has any suggestions as to a suitible book/repaort etc I
would be very please to hear from them.
Thanks
