Dear all,
I have a question regarding the use of standardised residuals with
Chi-squared tests. The question is:
How do I interpret the results of a significant chi-square test when no cell
shows standardised residuals above the required +/- 2?
It is common practice here in the Psych. Dept in UCD to attribute the
significance more to error than systematic difference. However I can't
seem to find any text that references this practice.
I would be very grateful if anyone could correct me if I am mistaken, or
suggest a reference than may support this practice.
all the best
Suzanne
