We are currently looking for a senior statistician to work in the Dublin
office. To succeed in this challenging post you will have a degree in
mathematics or statistics, ideally backed by a post-graduate qualification,
with a strong grounding in biostatistics and some knowledge of clinical
trials, ideally gained from at least 3 years experience in the
pharmaceutical industry or a contract research organisation. You will be a
self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

DEPARTMENT: Biostatistics
JOB TITLE: Senior Statistician
REPORTS TO: Manager of Biostatistics
1. PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
* Responsible for the overall quality and accuracy of statistical
programming, analyses, documentation and reports.
2. JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for writing of statistical statements and statistical
methodology in study protocols and statistical analysis plans.
* Responsible for sample size and power calculations.
* Review and critique of clinical trial design.
* Responsible for the analysis of global clinical studies.
* Responsible for statistical reports/sections of integrated
Clinical/Statistical reports.
* Assist in the supervision of statistical staff.
* Interact in a professional manner with clients and colleagues from
other departments, and documentation of relevant meetings.
* Carry out specific tasks relevant to the general running of the
Biostatistics department.
* Keep the person to whom the Senior Statistician reports informed of
any biostatistical issues within the department which require attention.
Inform the person to whom the Senior Statistician reports of project status.
3. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Appropriate academic post-graduate qualifications and/or relevant
experience.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
