FELLOW IN HEALTH SERVICES RESEARCH
The Centre for Medical Statistics at Keele University
wishes to appoint a Fellow in Health Service Research
& Support. The Fellow will work closely with colleagues
in the Department of Public Health Medicine in the Local
Health Authority (and in the Combined Care NHS Trust)
to assist with the development and implementation of their
extensive research programmes.
The post-holder will be required to undertake detailed
statistical analyses of existing data sets and design and
analyse new research projects using appropriate statistical
methods. Accordingly, The Centre is seeking a motivated
person with strong statistical modelling, analytical and
computer (database, statistical package, programming
language) skills.
The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, have
a PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics, have experience of
working in a health research environment and be able
to demonstrate an emerging publication profile in health
service research (or a cognate area). Enthusiasm, good
communication skills and a commitment to health service
research are essential attributes for this new post.
The post, which is jointly funded by the Centre and its
partners, is for 2.5 years in the first instance, subject to
a satisfactory probationary period of one year.
The starting salary will be on the Research Assistant
scale (Grade 1A) in the range £16k-£20k according
to age and qualifications.
