How do we locate genes associated with human disease?"
Abstract:
"The fields of human genetics and statistics have had a long
association. In this talk I will present an overview of the
application of statistical methods to the genetics of human diseases.
The study designs used to assess whether there is genetic involvement
in a particular disease, and where the defective gene(s) might be,
will be presented. The application and potential pitfalls of these
methods to both simple Mendelian and more complex human diseases will
be discussed."
