International Biometric Society, British Region
Annual General Meeting and 195th Ordinary Meeting
One Day Autumn Meeting
Thursday 23rd November 2000
Royal Statistical Society, 12 Errol Street, London EC1Y 8LX.
The Regional Committee has been considering alternative formats for
meetings, based on information from members in the questionnaire. It is
hoped that there will be increased attendance at less frequent one-day
meetings that include lecture sessions on three different topics. This
meeting incorporates the Annual General Meeting and the Presidential
Address.
As part of these one-day meetings it is proposed to include a Poster Session
during lunch. To encourage contributions, the Cedric Smith Poster Prize
will be awarded together with a cheque for £50 to the author of the best
poster at each meeting. Contributions to the Poster Session may be from any
area of biometry although topics related to the themes of the lecture
sessions are particularly welcome. Abstracts for posters should be sent to
Andrew Mead, by email ([log in to unmask]) preferably, or by post
(Biometrics Department, HRI, Wellesbourne, Warwick, CV35 9EF), to arrive no
later than 19th October. Abstracts should not exceed one A4 page.
Acceptance of poster abstracts will be notified by 1st November.
