Applications are invited for the above post from applicants
with experience in teaching medical statistics and critical
appraisal to healthcare students. The person appointed will
co-ordinate, support and provide integrated teaching for a
four-year medical degree course for graduates in any
discipline. The course is due to start in October 2000.

The successful applicant will be involved in teaching,
assessment, staff development, and administration relating
to medical statistics and critical appraisal. She/he will
carry out research in medical statistics, epidemiology, or
public health, as part of the research programme of the
Department of Public Health Sciences.
Applicants must have a good honours degree in an
appropriate discipline and a higher degree in statistics or
medical statistics and a good research record including
applications of statistics to medical or healthcare
research. They should be flexible, innovative and able to
work on their own initiative within a lively and
enthusiastic team.
The post is for five years and the salary is on the
non-clinical Lecturer B scale 24,227 to 34,601 pounds plus
2,134 pounds London Allowance per annum. For an informal
