Hi,
This mail makes three points about these recent postings to Allstat.
Firstly, PLEASE DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY TO THE LIST. Allstat is not a discussion
list and so replies should only be sent to the sender of the message. If you
feel that an Allstat message is inappropriate I would ask that you contact the
list-owner at

and I will take appropriate action if necessary.
The second point is that Allstat is a statistical list and so requesting
documents of a non-statistical nature is not an appropriate use for the list -
just because statistics has a role to play in a certain area does not mean that
any messages concerning that area are appropriate.
The last point is that Allstat is not meant to act as a forum for people to give
their opinions on non-statistical issues, even if these issues make use of
statistics. Just because "non experts" can sometimes have very useful impacts
on an area, this does not make Allstat the appropriate forum given the enourmous
range of such areas that could be discussed.
Regards,
John
