your archive of scripts regularly (if not freqwuently!) to compare trends
in marking and standards of work. Frankly, I reckon that if we asked
academics to do this we'd be laughed off the campus - or worse!
Given that the main wording of the precept is: "Institutions should
evaluate periodically the maintenance and development of their academic
standards" I think our view here (at least in ASSU - the Academic Standards
and Support Unit) is that as long as we have robust and defensible
mechanisms for meeting the precept (and we believe we do), script archives
aren't necessary.
