It is my view that if Boards are sufficiently incompetent that they
award and publish (be it a list or a letter) too high a classification
then the student reaps the benefit and nothing can be done which
could not be challenged and won at appeal.
Where a mark at a stage before final classification (year 2 of 3 say)
is published and is wrong you can appeal to the student's sense of
fairness to accept a corrected mark but if they have no such sense
again, from one experience, I believe there is nothing you can do
about it.
