I certainly do, several of our students who are classed as fail repeat at
the summer exam boards, either successfully appeal or are able to retrieve
sufficiently to proceed onto the next year of the course. How are we then
supposed to reverse the information originally given?
I cannot see anyone having the time in September or October to undertake a
separate exercise to identify all repeaters. I have to say that as LEA's are
already conversant with the AS1 system, and it is 95% successful, I do not
quite understand why the system is not continued. Especially as we still
have to use AS1/AS2's for existing award holders. Would it be too
complicated to ignore all successful progression ticks and just look at the
crosses.
possibly it puts too much work on LEA's but, i do not se that this fail
repeat form is a going to be a successful alternative, especially as it
seems to need a lot of info completed by hand !!!!!
