The incorporation of teaching and learning technologies in Higher Education
Institutions is currently a key issue for both academic practitioners and
institutions.  It would seem that this technology offers the potential to
enhance traditional learning methods within a sector that is experiencing
significant changes in educational strategy.
   
But what is this potential?  How can learning be achieved using this
technology?  What are the problems? How do students feel using this
environment?  How do academic practitioners feel about its use? These are
some of the many questions that the Art, Design and Communication community
needs to begin to address.

This workshop aims to provide an interactive electronic learning experience
that will stimulate constructive discussion on this significant development
in pedagogic practice.

Participants
The event will be of interest to all staff from the Art, Design and
Communication community who want to enter the electronic learning debate,
and those who wish to experience the electronic classroom.

Content
This workshop will include presentations from academic practitioners and
students.  It will also offer participants the opportunity to experience
electronic learning, with group activities taking place in an electronic
learning environment.

Outcomes
This workshop will enable you to:

*       Assess the value of electronic learning to your own subject area or
specialism
*       Identify features of electronic learning that will enhance
traditional teaching methods
*       Identify potential problems in the use of electronic learning
*       Consider electronic learning from a student's perspective

Venue
The workshop will be held at Coventry University. Full details of the day
will be sent out to delegates upon registration.

Cost
The cost of the workshop is £30.00 per person, which includes lunch and
