It can be annoying - particularly (as has happened to me) when you send
personal messages and broadcast your woes to the whole world!
Some email packages (I use Outlook Express 5 on the Mac for example) have a
mailing list manager which allows you to set this option automatically.
Hope that helps some people. Only problem is, often you do actually want to
reply to the list!
I think the best thing is for people to put their email address in the body
of the message if they want people to reply to them personally, as Paul did.
My biggest bug bear is when you get a one line response to an email with
about six months worth of messages quoted underneath! :-)
