Hi Pat!
Thanks for the welcome and sory it has taken me ages to get back to the list. I
have seen a lot of documentries on autism and I find it so interesting. I like
to learn and understand other disabilities. It is intresting that we stare at
people with disabilities that we don't understand. I am actually guilty of not
talking to someone who can not talk properly cos I feel awkward or embarrised.
It is silly I know.
I have just finished a course at brixton college and in another part of the
college there was a girl in a wheelchair who could not talk and used a computer
and sign language to make herself understood. She was very clever though and
she even had her own web page and wrote it herself! She also had a slight sight
problem.
