Thanks for the introduction.
It seems that you have been employed to do something which is now a major feature of
commercial surveying practice. I note your critisisms of the existing procedures and
this may or may not elicit the assistance that you request, since any new
suggestions may meet with the same critisism! There is also the issue of
professional confidentiality to consider, which may stop people sharing their
procedures with you.
But why take a negative stance? here is an opportunity here for you to design your
own approach and then let others critisise it! I think that this may be a more
productive use of this mailing list.
