Hi Patrick
I've just read your first email (dated 16th Dec), sorry for the delay.
I can see why it brings a lump to your throat. It really does sound a
fantastic step in the right direction, and I for one would certainly
consider the service provided as being an incentive to use a
particular airline, more so than cost of flight.
I think you are right when you say that it has to be incremental.
You have to bring people 'on board' with you, and that takes time
including proper training and test flights etc.
I recently tried to sort out a cruise for my mum that stopped in
Rome. Some friends did an all inclusive airtours cruise and sung its
praises. On getting the brochures from Airtours, they listed four
ships on which they would not accommodate disabled passengers,
fine I thought, until I counted how may ships Airtours have ..... 4.
All I want to organise for my mum is a hassle free trip to Rome.
Thats why I think there is big business in tuning in to 'special
needs' so it is good news.
Rita
