another extract from the news section of this months Disability Now shows
ow the Globe Theatre made a mess of accessability demonstrating that even
when architects make a gesture of commitment to disabled access they still
get it wrong.
I cynically wonder to what extent the provision of a "disabled toilet" was
a funding related issue rather than a commitment of service to disabled
visitors.

DN's telephone counsellor Lin Berwick came a cropper when she
tried to use a
loo fordisabled people in the newly reconstructed Globe Theatre.
An
architectural gaffe meant the loo wasn't big enough for Lin to
manoeuvre her
wheelchair around in it and she was told the error can't be
altered for
"structural reasons". A farce worthy of the Bard, methinks.
