I'll leap in first then....
My name is Rob, I am the access officer for Lancaster City Council - since
February this year at least. I am a wheelchair user and one of only two full
time access officers in my County. I also have a responsibility for cycling in
the district and wear a pedestrian 'hat'. I have also recently become involved
in the Human Rights legislation issues.
I am a graduate of Lancaster University where I read History at both
undergraduate and postgraduate level and have been heavily involved in
disability issues for some time. If anyone wants to 'check me out' I have a Web
page at http://www.lancs.ac.uk/postgrad/bracewel
My professional interests don't stop at physical access issues, I am working to
provide solutions throughout my district that will enable members of the various
communities here to access the 'habitat' here at the level they choose. I see my
role essentially as a 'community inclusion facilitator' - somewhat pompous I
know, but it does describe my approach to the role fairly concisely.
As for other interests - well mail me and ask..
Regards to all
Rob
