Hi All
I am in the process of joining the group, following the message to the
"Accessabity" listserv. I noticed though a few messages in the archive
about Taktyle Signs and Labels Ltd. I hope you feel you can post this
message
I work in the field of signs, specifically tactile information systems
manufacturing tactile signs, maps, learning aids etc. I was one of the
original founders of Taktyle Signs and Marketing Director there until
October last year when the company started to have financial difficulties. I
also, with Keith Flint (who left several years ago) developed the patents
and trade marks under which the company operated. To the best of my
knowledge the company has just ceased trading - the premises appear empty
and no one is answering the telephone.
However, the company I now work for - NES - produces the same type of
products, plus many others. The range of NES products are branded
"Clearline" and meet all the user needs of my original Taktyle design but
additionally meet the forthcoming British Standard on Way Guidance for
People with Special Needs. This is largely based on the work of Peter
Barker's Joint Mobility Unit (RNIB/GDBA).
I did not want to start off with an advert but if anyone would like me to
arrange for samples, brochures price lists etc, please email me on my
private email box off-line and I'll get them out.
