Senior Lecturer in Faculty of Leisure and Tourism
A vacancy has occurred in the Faculty of Leisure and Tourism to teach on
the new BA (Hons) Outdoor Education & Adventure Recreation degree. The
first intake of students is October 2000 (subject to validation).
Applications are invited from graduates with proven experience in and
knowledge of the outdoor industry. Applicants are expected to hold or be
in the process of gaining an appropriate higher degree. The successful
applicant will be responsible for the day to day organisation of the
course and its development and will contribute to theoretical and
practical aspects of the degree. They will also be involved in student
tutoring. The Outward Bound and other agencies are collaborating with
the Faculty to provide practical industrial experience for students.
The Faculty has a strong research profile in outdoor adventure
education, particularly in the field of social and cultural analysis. It
is hoped that the successful applicant would also be able to contribute
to this profile.
