Hello All,
As part of my research, it has become necessary to discuss
definitions of 'Information Literacy' which, as most of you will know,
is open to multiple interpretations, and remains a somewhat
nebulous concept - I suspect that most people "would know it if
they saw it", but I am unable to find one definition that is
completely satisfactory (perhaps there is none!).
As an exercise, I would like to gather viewpoints from you who
work in the field, and maybe combine these perspectives to identify
the major attributes of 'Information Literacy'.
For those of you who have time, a description of perhaps 100-200
words on what you consider an 'Information Literate person' to be
would provide interesting data, which I will be happy to analyse and
post to the list.
Thanks in advance!
Claire
