The Scottish Library Association is hosting its 8th Branch/Group Day on
Wednesday 24th May 2000 at Peebles.
The day starts with an address by the President, Colin Will, Planning
Officer at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, which will be networked
to a second conference room. There are twelve other sessions to choose
from organised by the LA special interest groups active in Scotland and
SCURL. A huge diversity of interests will be covered - including
cross-sectoral collaboration, lifelong learning, Internet content and
safety and electronic library projects. Delegates can choose to attend
any session.
This year we have ten French librarians visiting the conference and they
warmly invite colleagues to attend their sessions, which will have
simultaneous translation facilities. Issues discussed will include
public library networking, setting up cyber centres and digitisation
projects.
Free buses run from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Perth and Kinross.
The fee of 25 pounds includes teas/coffees and the unbeatable Peebles
lunch.
