ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN (SUBJECT LIBRARIAN) - TWO POSTS
Applications are invited from graduates with a good honours degree and
professional qualifications and experience in librarianship and information
studies to work as part of a team of subject librarians providing an
information and advisory service to faculties and overseeing collection
development in a range of subjects. Two posts will shortly become vacant.
Post 1: Subject Librarian - Social Sciences (available from 1 June 2000):
Primary responsibility will be for the Social Sciences, including liaison with
the Departments of Sociology, Applied Social Science, Education, Religious
Studies and a number of associated teaching or research centres.
Post 2: Subject Librarian - Humanities, including Rare Books and Archives
(available from 1 October 2000): Primary responsibility will be for Rare Books
& Archives and the Performing Arts (Departments include Art, Music and Theatre
Studies) plus other subject(s) to be agreed.
These posts also involve timetabled evening and weekend duties and the
possibility of additional subject or administrative responsibilities.
Salary: ?18,915-?24,479 p.a. with the expectation of progression to
?25,452-?30,065 p.a.
