IIS Northern Branch is holding a workshop on Power Searching the World
Wide Web (The effective use of search engines)
on Wednesday May 24 at the Liverpool Business School, 1.30-4.30 pm.
Do you really know how well you are searching the Web? Are you as up to
date as you think you are? The session will include an introduction to
the main features of search engines, covering new services and the many
features now available.
There will be a directed hands-on session, refreshments, and the
opprotunity to discuss searching experiences.
The workshop will be led by Glyn Rowland, Senior Lecturer, Information
Management Group at the Liverpool Business School. Glyn has been
teaching use of the Internet and the Web for many years and specialises
in the effective use of search engines.
Cost: £40 for IIS members, £50 for non-members (inc. VAT)
