Understanding Records Management
Friday 14 April 2000 10.30am - 4.00pm
Macaulay Land Research Institute, Aberdeen
Event organised jointly by the Industrial and Commercial Libraries Group
(Scotland), IIS Scottish Branch and Grampian Information.
Why you should attend:
This one-day course will give non-specialists an overview of the key
concepts in records management and provide examples of good practice. There
will be opportunities to discuss the issues involved and to seek practical
advice from specialists and colleagues.
Including key contributions from:
Shelley Hardcastle
Information Management Consultant, Hays InfoRM
Shelley is a well known speaker on records management. She will look at
disaster planning and how it impacts on procedures.
Alan Cameron
Head of Archives, Bank of Scotland
Alan manages probably the largest in-house records operation in Scotland. He
will share his experience and expertise on the issues and challenges
encountered in this role.
Claire Johnson
University of Glasgow
Claire's presentation will discuss the role of the Records Manager in
reviewing and recommending current records and information management
procedures to the University, and the challenges involved in creating and
maintaining a flexible and comprehensive information system in paper and
digital media.
Judith Smith
Director, Centre for Knowledge Management, The Robert Gordon University
Judith will discuss how knowledge management is changing document management
and control.
