Supporting your case using budgeting and costing data
A new one day workshop on 2 March in London
With organisations facing tougher competition for funding and resources, and
increasing pressure to offer more for less, it is no longer sufficient to be
able to present the facts and a well reasoned argument when submitting a
business case. The ability to produce sound financial information to
strengthen your bid is essential.
Whether developing a new service, trying to secure additional staff or
evaluating income generating ideas, using and presenting financial
information effectively can help you secure the desired result.
How can this event help you?
This workshop will equip you with the skills and techniques needed to
effectively evaluate the financial data needed to support and present a
solid proposal.
At the end of the day you will:
* practice the key techniques involved in appraising financial
information and making a 'business case' using financial data
* learn the processes involved in:
* cost comparison
* justifying staffing structures and budgets
* evaluating income generation ideas
* using charts and graphs to illustrate your case.
* be able to use the techniques learnt to evaluate data and present
your case in effective ways, on return to the work place.
Who should attend?
Senior library and information managers with responsibility for managing
both staffing and materials budgets, but who may also be responsible for
premises management.
