Discover the practical aspects of managing one's emotions and the emotions
of others in this exciting new one day workshop:
An introduction to emotional management
17 May, at LAHQ, in London
The purpose of rational or bureaucratic management was to provide an
impartial, coherent structure for efficient functioning of organisations.
Part of this process was the engineering out of all emotion or passion.
Over the past ten years things have changed. Organisations have flattened,
become leaner and demand higher levels of commitment and emotional resources
from the individuals involved.
Increasingly EQ (Emotional Quotient) is being accepted as a more important
predictor of effectiveness at work than IQ.
So when emotion returns to the organisation managers have to be able to
mould and focus it in effective pathways or face the unpredictable
consequences.
How will this event help you?
The day will prove an insight into the impact of emotion in the workplace
and your ability to mediate your own emotional response and so be more
resourceful in communication with others.
Who will benefit from attending?
Professionals with a human resource management or staff development
responsibility, who are interested to see and experience emotional
management in practice.
This workshop considers:
- me and my emotions in the organisation
- learning to learn from 'feelings' while maintaining resourcefulness
- differentiating between events and emotions
- emotional organisation
- engaging the hearts and heads of colleagues towards common purpose
- help colleagues manager their emotions
During the day you will cover:
* the emotional geography of your work place
* how to enhance your emotional effectiveness at work
* the difference between what happens and emotional response
* the physical elements of emotions
