CofHE Scotland
Reminder of Training Day April 11th 2000
"Developing potential: a one-day seminar on motivation and flexibility in
education information services."
Business Learning Centre, Dunfermline
The new millennium offers many exciting opportunities and changes for
college library and information services. Learning resource managers and
supervisors have to cope with increased change and the management of a
constantly evolving service.
Encouraging other staff to "buy in" to new services, practices and
philosophies of independent learning, resource-based facilitation and the
employment of ICT in teaching and learning, can be a challenge. Others are
not always so keen to move with the times due to various factors - set views
of roles, fear of technology or just fear of change.
This training day will include talks from managers of FE and HE services
covering their experiences and practices of change management in this area.
The day will also include workshops on good practice and a plenary session.
The training day has been developed in response to recent feedback from
CofHE members and is aimed at any manager or supervisor facing the issues of
change management.
